The route was first done back in the late 90's sometime. It takes 500' of WI3/3+ ice, broken by 500-600 feet of snow, then 1000 feet of WI3 to WI4 up the face to the top of the ice just beneath the badly corniced ridgeline. Temps hovered about 15F dropping colder into the afternoon with winds of 10-15mph. Gusts worsened the higher I got, to 50mph, or maybe more? Fun alpine outing!<br /><br />5 comments rockytop Mon, 09 Mar 2015 13:02:53 -0400 Salmonella - Salmon River http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/new-yorknorth/p11858-salmonellasalmon-river.html <a href="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/new-yorknorth/p11858-salmonellasalmon-river.html"><img title="S_high.JPG" border="0" src="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/data/2/thumbs/S_high.JPG" alt="S_high.JPG" /></a><br /><br />by: afendres<br /><br />Description: Needed to hack a bit on Salmonella, 3/7.<br /><br />1 comment afendres Mon, 09 Mar 2015 10:01:23 -0400 Salmonella - Salmon River http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/new-yorknorth/p11857-salmonellasalmon-river.html <a href="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/new-yorknorth/p11857-salmonellasalmon-river.html"><img title="S_low.JPG" border="0" src="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/data/2/thumbs/S_low.JPG" alt="S_low.JPG" /></a><br /><br />by: afendres<br /><br />Description: Pretty empty lot at Salmon River on Sat., 3/7. afendres Mon, 09 Mar 2015 09:59:31 -0400 Play it Again, Salmon - Salmon River Falls http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/new-yorknorth/p11856-play-it-again-2c-salmonsalmon-river-falls.html <a href="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/new-yorknorth/p11856-play-it-again-2c-salmonsalmon-river-falls.html"><img title="PIA_high.JPG" border="0" src="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/data/2/thumbs/PIA_high.JPG" alt="PIA_high.JPG" /></a><br /><br />by: afendres<br /><br />Description: Dirk getting in some good screws before the shale, 3/7.<br /><br />3 comments afendres Mon, 09 Mar 2015 09:58:09 -0400 Play it Again, Salmon - Salmon River Falls http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/new-yorknorth/p11855-play-it-again-2c-salmonsalmon-river-falls.html <a href="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/new-yorknorth/p11855-play-it-again-2c-salmonsalmon-river-falls.html"><img title="PIA_low.JPG" border="0" src="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/data/2/thumbs/PIA_low.JPG" alt="PIA_low.JPG" /></a><br /><br />by: afendres<br /><br />Description: Dirk taking a run on 3/7. afendres Mon, 09 Mar 2015 09:56:12 -0400 PA http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/neice-photo-gallery/p11854-pa.html <a href="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/neice-photo-gallery/p11854-pa.html"><img title="MM1.jpg" border="0" src="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/data/500/thumbs/MM1.jpg" alt="MM1.jpg" /></a><br /><br />by: TomThomas<br /><br />Description: Mariann having fun in PA TomThomas Sun, 08 Mar 2015 18:48:29 -0400 PA http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/neice-photo-gallery/p11853-pa.html <a href="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/neice-photo-gallery/p11853-pa.html"><img title="TT.jpg" border="0" src="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/data/500/thumbs/TT.jpg" alt="TT.jpg" /></a><br /><br />by: TomThomas<br /><br />Description: March 8th and I'm still having fun in PA TomThomas Sun, 08 Mar 2015 18:47:43 -0400 The Lake http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/vermont/p11852-the-lake.html <a href="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/vermont/p11852-the-lake.html"><img title="IMG_0391.jpg" border="0" src="http://www.iceclimbingphotos.com/data/504/thumbs/IMG_0391.jpg" alt="IMG_0391.jpg" /></a><br /><br />by: STASH<br /><br />Description: Mindbender 3/6, no approach path!
